4 – Wheelers Collide
A teenager was seriously injured after he and his friend collided on the 4 – wheelers they were riding in Sampson County.
Joshua Dowd of Roseboro was riding his all-terrain vehicle along with a friend on N.C. Highway 242 when Anthony Cox of Clinton abruptly slowed down to make a turn. Dowd rear-ended the 4 – wheeler driven by Cox at a speed of approximately 25 mph.
The rear-end collision caused the all-terrain vehicle operated by Dowd to overturn three times.
According to the report, Dowd was not wearing a helmet.
Dowd was airlifted to New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington.
