On the morning of February 10, 12 people suffered personal injuries in a school bus crash in west Charlotte.


The bus’ driver and 11 children received transport to local hospitals. Five of the students were taken to Presbyterian Hospital and the other six students and the driver were taken to Carolinas Medical Center. According to MEDIC, the injuries are all considered to be minor.


Shortly after 8:30 a.m., bus No. 106 was on Freedom Drive en route to Whitewater Middle School. A box truck rear-ended the fully loaded bus at a bus stop outside the Westside Apartments.


There were around 50 other students on the bus who were uninjured in the crash. They received transport to the school on another bus.
