Marlo was born and raised in Lumberton, NC. Her claim to fame is being the first baby born in Robeson County in 1980. She graduated summa cum laude from Lumberton Senior High in 1998.
Marlo always knew she had a heart for the law. She began working in a law firm as a junior in high school. Following graduation, she decided to become a Fighting Camel at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government/Pre-Law in 2002. As an undergraduate, Marlo earned a spot on the Dean’s List for all eight semesters and was a Presidential Scholar. She was the Student Vice President of Phi Kappa Phi and also participated in Phi Eta Sigma and Epsilon Pi Eta. Marlo was also a summer intern for Congressman Mike McIntyre.
Marlo continued her academic career in “the Creek” attending the Norman A. Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. She graduated in 2005 and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar that same year. As a student in law school, she participated in the Client Counseling Competition, Intramural Moot Court Competition, Delta Theta Phi Secretary, Campbell Law Democrats, Christian Legal Society, Women in Law Secretary, American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and North Carolina Association of Trial Lawyers.
Marlo has always worked in the areas of motor vehicle collisions, dog bites, personal injury, and social security disability. She is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR). Her desire to help the injured has led her to a fulfilling career in working in firms that assist the underdog. As a guiding principle, Marlo applies the scripture Jeremiah 29:11 to all things in her life and the lives of others. Her main concern is that her clients have excellent client service and never settle for anything less than the best. As a zealous client advocate, Marlo prepares extensively for her cases, both in the office and at home, to ensure the best possible outcome for her clients. As Brent Adams & Associates motto says, “We Make Things Right!” She has recently added Bankruptcy and VA Benefits to her areas of practice.
Marlo is also admitted to practice law in the United States District Court, North Carolina, Eastern District.
Marlo is married to Patrick, who has his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University. He has been a nurse for approximately 20 years and currently works as a Emergency Room Nurse. Patrick is currently working on his Master of Science in Nursing to be a Family Nurse Practitioner. They have one son, Hunter, who is an avid fisherman and huge NC State Fan. They also have a Shihpoo furbaby, Coal, who is extremely spoiled.
Marlo and Patrick love to travel anywhere from the mountains to the coast of the great state of North Carolina and enjoy cruising in the Caribbean. Both are huge fans of 80s music and during football and basketball season, Marlo and Patrick can be seen in Buies Creek cheering on the Fighting Camels at Campbell University! #rollhumps Marlo and Patrick attend West Lumberton Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC.
