One of the young stars from the MTV reality television series "Teen Mom 2" has been injured in a North Carolina car accident. Her two-year-old son was not injured in the one-vehicle accident, though the toddler was brought to the hospital for an examination.
According to local news sources, 20-year-old Jenelle Evans was in a parking lot in Wilmington when she lost control of her car and struck a light pole. Evans suffered minor injuries in the crash, as did an 18-year-old female who was riding in the passenger's seat; the passenger allegedly slammed into the dashboard. Evans' child, Jace, was properly secured in a child seat in the back of the vehicle and was not hurt.
Evans was quick to Tweet about the wreck after gossip website TMZ reported on the incident. Evans told fans that Jace was fine, that no drugs were involved, and that her mother left her injured at the hospital, though she came to pick up Jace.
Police confirmed that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the one-car accident. Evans has had a troubled history of drug use in recent years. Last year, she lost a custody battle for her son, who now lives with Jenelle's mother, Barbara. In August, she tested positive for drugs at a meeting with her parole officer.
