Missing Teen Found Dead After Gaston County Motorcycle Accident

A father found the lifeless body of his son on a rural North Carolina road this week – Gaston County authorities believe that the 18-year-old was involved in a motorcycle accident five days before his remains were discovered.

Jacob Lance LaMarr went missing earlier in the week. He lived with friends in Charlotte during the workweek and returned to Clover each weekend to live with his family. He was employed at the Market Street restaurant in Gastonia. After his family failed to contact him for several days, his father drove his work route and found the site of a motorcycle crash as well as his son’s body. His father, John LaMarr followed some disturbed branches into a wooded area off of Crowders Creek Road near Ferguson Ridge Road which about two miles west of Gastonia.

North Carolina Police are working to figure out when the teen died and what caused him to run off of the road and into the woods. Though the 18-year-old was wearing a helmet at the time of the motorcycle accident, the helmet appeared to come off during the bike crash. The investigation continues, and authorities think that the boy died on July 25, the last day anyone saw him alive.

A memorial service will be held for LaMarr at 7 PM on Thursday, August 5th, at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 209 North Main Street, Clover, South Carolina. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 5 PM to 7 PM.
