What Is The SSA’s List Of Compassionate Allowances?

Especially with current economic problems and the increasing number of aging Americans, the wait for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits can be as long as one to three years. In some cases, those waiting for application approval or denied application appeals will suffer from deteriorating health, poverty, and even death as they await their life-saving disability benefits.

To help save precious time for those struggling with fatal or extremely serious health conditions and diseases, the Social Security Administration has compiled a list of 50 compassionate allowances - 50 diseases, illnesses, and conditions that qualify quickly for Social Security disability benefits. The SSA says that the list will expand over the next few months and years.
