An incident in which an aircraft worker suffered fatal personal injuries is under investigation by North Carolina labor officials.
According to a report from the News & Record of Greensboro, 41-year-old Preston Strickland died on May 28 while working at TIMCO Aviation Services.
According to Guilford County sheriff’s Lt. H.D. Burroughs, Strickland fell a distance of around two stories as he was working on a plane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Burroughs did not say whether or not Strickland was wearing proper safety equipment, saying that it would be part of the investigation of the state Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Division.
According to agency spokeswoman Dolores Quesenberry, generally a worker death investigation takes around three to four months to complete.
TIMCO provides aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services.
