Women Killed In Orange County Crash Identified
Authorities in Orange County have identified two women who suffered fatal personal injuries in a Thanksgiving morning wreck.
On November 26, 39-year-old Williamson, Georgia resident Susan Beasley-Tamer was driving along Guess Road in an SUV with her passenger, 61-year-old Brooks, Georgia resident Jane McCrary Beasley when their vehicle was T-boned at the N.C. 57 intersection shortly after 10 a.m.
Authorities believe the women may not have known the road well due to being from out of state.
According to a North Carolina Highway Patrol officer, Beasley-Tamer ran a stop sign just before a pick-up truck struck her Jeep Cherokee. The SUV overturned and landed in a ditch.
The driver of the pick-up, 23-year-old Timothy James Whitfield, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
According to the local fire chief, changes are needed at the intersection, as three to five fatal wrecks occur there each year.
