Woman Killed In Spring Lake Crash

Police say a woman sustained fatal personal injuries on the afternoon of December 30 in a wreck on N.C. Highway 210 near an apartment complex in Spring Lake.

The 68-year-old woman, whose identity was not immediately made available, was attempting to turn left from N.C. 210 into an apartment complex at Watercliff Road around 2:30 p.m. when a Saturn SUV collided with her 1993 Honda Accord.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. An 8-year-old child in the SUV received hospital transport for injuries not considered to be life-threatening, according to police.

Another vehicle struck the SUV after the initial collision and debris from the wrecks struck two other vehicles, police say.
