A Selma woman who suffered serious personal injuries in a motorcycle accident in Clayton on August 30 died from those injuries on September 2.

Clayton police say that 40-year-old Kimberly Cockrell Lockhart died after the crash.

On the day of the accident, Lockhart was traveling on U.S. 70 Business near Regency Drive on a 2002 Harley-Davidson when she crashed at approximately 11:15 a.m. No other vehicles were involved.

Police say that excessive speed and impairment are believed to have been factors.
