A woman has filed a personal injury suit against JF Electric after she was allegedly seriously injured by a trailer loaded with a wooden light pole that came unhooked from the vehicle towing it and crossed into her oncoming traffic lane.
Bonnie McCurley seeks damages in excess of $100,000 in addition to costs of suit. She filed the suit in the Circuit Court of St. Clair Count, Illinois on August 1 over the incident, which occurred on June 17.
The complaint alleges the while McCurley was traveling south, the JF Electric vehicle towing the trailer was heading north when the trailer came unhooked. The vehicle’s driver, Steven Mueller, has also been named as a defendant.
McCurley alleges negligence on the part of the defendants for their failure to properly secure the trailer to the vehicle. She alleges that as a result, she sustained permanently disabling injuries to her head, neck, and body as a whole.
