A woman from Los Angeles, California has filed a product liability suit against Victoria’s Secret,
alleging that as she was trying to put on a thong produced by the company, a
decorative metallic piece flew off the garment, striking her in the eye and
causing her to sustain personal injuries.
According to the suit filed on June 9 in the Superior Court of Los Angeles by 52-year-old Macrida Patterson, she was injured in May of 2007 by a defective “low-rise v-string” from the underwear giant’s “Sexy Little Thing” line.
According to Jason Buccat, Patterson’s attorney, the piece came loose because of a “design problem,” causing it to strike her in the eye, resulting in cornea damage. He also noted that the injury, which caused her to miss a few days of work, will continue to have an effect for the rest of her life.
