Woman Files Suit Against Hospital After Tripping On Shower Drain Cap
A woman has filed a personal injury suit against Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital, alleging that stepping on the drain cap caused her to trip and fall while taking a shower.
Shonta Hall claims in a May 13 suit in Texas’ Jefferson County District Court that the hospital did not provide her with a safe place to take a shower.
The suit says that Hall was showering on May 12, 2007 at the hospital when she slid after stepping on the drain cap and fell, causing her bodily injury.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of the hospital for failure to maintain the shower, allowing the drain cap to remain unsecure, and failure to know the dangerous condition of the shower and the chances for injury.
Hall seeks damages for past and future medical costs, pain, and mental anguish.
