A woman has filed a personal injury suit against a driver she claims turned into her vehicle while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to the suit filed in Texas’ Jefferson County District Court by Veronica Hammonds on February 24, she was driving on College Street in Beaumont, Texas on March 28, 2008 when defendant Ben Walhood, driving a vehicle for defendant C&L Ice Co., failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with her.
Hammonds claims the accident caused her to incur medical expenses, lose earnings and earning capacity, suffer physical impairment, physical pain, and mental anguish.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of Wallhood for failure to maintain proper control of his vehicle, attempting to turn left across the southbound lanes of traffic at a time that was unsafe to do so, driving while intoxicated, and causing serious bodily injury to Hammonds.
Hammonds seeks unspecified damages.
