Woman Files Suit After TV Falls On Her In Hospital Waiting Room

A woman from Jefferson County, Texas has filed suit against Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital, claiming that she sustained personal injuries to her let shoulder, left side, and left kneed after a 19-inch television fell on her while she was waiting in the emergency room.

According to the suit filed in Jefferson County District Court on November 10, on November 10, 2006, Vanessa Lonnett was waiting in the to be seen by a doctor in the emergency room when the TV, which was mounted on a wall, fell on her.

Lonnett claims that, in addition to her injuries, she suffered physical disfigurement, physical pain, and medical anguish as well as incurred medical expenses.

Lonnett alleges negligence on the part of the hospital for failure to inspect the wall mount in order to discover a dangerous condition, correct the unsafe condition, repair the wall mount, and warn of the unsafe condition. She seeks unspecified damages.
