Woman Files Suit After Bus Collision

A woman from Bethalto, Illinois has filed suit against Roxana Community School District No. 1 and one of its bus drivers after she was allegedly injured in a collision with the bus.

According to the she filed on January 16 in Illinois’ Madison County Circuit Court, on January 16, Monica Perkinson was driving when a Roxana Community School District No. 1 bus driven by Russell Stevens collided with her vehicle.

Perkinson claims the accident caused bruises, contusions, lacerations, cuts, tearing, swelling, aggravation, rupturing, mashing, wrenching, narrowing, compression, subluxation, abrasion, dislocation, spraining, straining, stiffness, soreness, and pain to her neck and back. She also claims the crash caused her great physical pain and permanent and progressive injuries.

The suit alleges negligence against Stevens for driving to fast, failure to maintain a proper lookout, failure to signal his intention to turn, and failure to yield right-of-way. The suit alleges negligence against the school district through his actions.
