Woman Dies in Accident on Interstate 40
A chain-reaction accident on Interstate 40, near Gorman Street, resulted with one death and nine others being injured Wednesday night.
Speaking for the Raleigh Police, Jim Sughrue said a driver, Amelia Hernandez-Garcia got out of a vehicle stopped in the center lane. Ms. Hernandez-Garcia was asking for help from another stopped motorist. Within a short period of time, a chain-reaction accident occurred involving these two vehicles and three additional ones.
Ms. Hernandez-Garcia was killed and nine others were injured.
The accidents are being investigated.
