Woman Dead, 4-Year-Old Injured In Warrenton Crash

North Carolina state troopers say that a woman died and a 4-year-old girl sustained severe personal injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Warrenton on the night of September 28.

According to troopers, a 2005 Honda sedan driven by 38-year-old Warrenton resident Lucy Henderson ran off the road to the right on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard twice before hitting a ditch and colliding with a mailbox. The vehicle overturned and hit a tree before coming to a rest.

Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Henderson’s passenger, 4-year-old Trinity Owens, received air transport to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, according to troopers. She was listed in fair condition as of September 29.

Troopers say that neither Henderson nor Owens was wearing a seat belt. The two resided at the same address.
