A woman has filed a personal injury suit against Kroger, claiming she contracting food poisoning from a lobster she purchased at the market.
According to the suit Paula Richardson filed against Kroger in Texas’ Jefferson County District Court on April 9, she fell violently ill after consuming a frozen lobster she bought from her local Kroger on April 14, 2007.
According to the claim, Richardson prepared the lobster on April 16, 2007, and after eating it, contracted extreme food poisoning.
Richardson claims the illness caused her to incur medical costs, suffer physical pain and impairment, lose wages, and experienced mental anguish.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of Kroger for failure to properly inspect the frozen lobster and equipment used for maintaining its freshness, failure to properly maintain the frozen lobster, failure to warn, and enticing Richardson to buy the lobster, despite its defects.
Richardson seeks unspecified damages.
