Woman Claims Intoxicated Driver Caused Crash

A woman has filed a personal injury suit against another woman and a bar over the injuries she suffered in a collision caused by an alleged drunken driver.

Alicia E. Tepfer seeks damages in excess of $150,000 for the April 20 collision in East St. Louis, Missouri.

According to the suit Tepfer filed on February 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, she was eastbound in a 1998 Ford Contour when the vehicle driven west by Anne M. McMullen collided with her.

The suit claims that McMullen had purchased alcohol from Pop’s Nightclub before the accident occurred.

Tepfer alleges that when the crash occurred, McMullen was intoxicated to the point where she should not have been driving an alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

Tepfer claims the collision caused her to experience severe and permanent injuries, great pain and anguish, and substantial medical expenses.

The suit alleges negligence on the part of McMullen for failure to maintain a proper lookout, failure to maintain control of her vehicle, failure to see Tepfer, failure to stop her vehicle in time, failure to drive on the right side of the road, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tepfer seeks damages in excess of $150,000, plus costs and other relief, from the three-count suit.
