A woman has filed a personal injury suit against a rehabilitation hospital, claiming that a fall a year ago caused her to have one of her legs amputated.
According to the suit 81-year-old Lily Karber filed against Clear Lake Rehabilitation Hospital in Texas’ Galveston County District Court on May 13, she went to the Houston hospital to undergo treatment for a condition the suit did not specify, but was neglected and mishandled by the staff.
The suit claims Karber was misdiagnosed and remained at the hospital longer than expected. It also claims that while she was under the care of some nurses, he fell and broke her leg, which had to be surgically removed.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of the hospital for failure to provide adequate nursing care, failure to provide an environment free of hazards, and violation of the state’s administrative and penal codes.
Karber says that prior to her time at the hospital, she had no broken bones or other injuries to her leg. She claims the incident has caused her to experience embarrassment, pain and suffering, and mental anguish.
Karber seeks unspecified damages and has requested a trial by jury.Post a Comment to "Woman Claims Fall At Rehab Hospital Resulted In Amputated Leg"
