Woman Claims Fall At HEB On Puddle Near Ice Machine
A woman has filed a personal injury suit against HEB Grocery Company, alleging that she slipped and fell in a puddle of water that had dripped from a nearby ice machine.
According to the suit Shauntral Pollard filed on October 21 in Texas’ Jefferson County District Court, she was a customer at the store on November 3, 2008 when the incident occurred.
The suit alleges that she fell due to water that had come from the ice machine. She claims no floor mats were in place to absorb the water and no wet floor signs had been placed in the area to warn customers.
The suit alleges negligence on the part of HEB for failure to protect customers.
Pollard claims the fall caused her injuries to her neck, back, left hip, and left ankle.
Pollard seeks damages for past and future mental anguish, medical costs, lost wages, and impairment.
