A woman recently filed suit in Texas’ Orange County District Court, alleging that she suffered personal injuries when she was “charged” by a dog as she was out riding her bicycle.
According to the suit Billie Melanson filed on January 7, Mark Mitchell was negligent in his failure to properly keep his dog restrained.
Melanson says that on August 29, she was out for a bike ride when Mitchell’s dog, which was “roaming freely,” suddenly charged her, resulting in her falling off of her bicycle and onto the pavement.
Melanson alleges negligence on the part of Mitchell for failure to chain his dog and allowing his dog to roam freely inside city limits.
The suit does not mention what type of dog was involved or the injuries Melanson sustained.
Melanson seeks damages for mental anguish and court costs.
