Charges have been filed against a woman from Mamers in connection with a recent wreck on U.S. 421 north of Lillington in which a motorcyclist suffered fatal personal injuries.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol says that 26-year-old Victoria Lorraine Allen has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield to traffic at a stop sign.
According to the Highway Patrol, at approximately 8 a.m. on May 1, Allen drove through a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 421 and Cool Springs Road, into the path of the northbound motorcycle of 22-year-old Sanford resident Brandon Rodney Brown.
The ensuing collision ejected Brown from his vehicle. He received transport to Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, where he was later pronounced dead.
Allen also received transport to Central Carolina and was released following treatment.
