
A woman has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle in an automobile accident in which one person died and two others suffered serious personal injuries in Charlotte on February 9.
The accident took place on Corsica Forest Drive, in the Steele Creek area, around 11:30 a.m.
Police said that 18-year-old Sharai Bauer struck the three pedestrians after becoming distracted by something falling to the floor of her car.
A 66-year-old man, a 27-year-old woman, and a 1-year-old child were struck. The man died at the scene. The woman and child received hospital transport for serious injuries.
Police said the two adults were walking close to the right curb, pushing the child’s stroller when they were struck.
Police have not made the names of the victims available.
Police arrested Bauer at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
