Woman Airlifted To Hospital After Dog Attack

A Texas woman received helicopter transport to University Hospital in San Antonio on the night of January 9 for the personal injuries she sustained after being attacked by her dog.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 9 p.m. and found that the woman had more than just a few bite marks, according to Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Investigator Lt. Kevin Jordan. He said a bull mastiff, her pet, had attacked her and EMS believed the dog had broken her arm and leg.

The 26-year-old woman sought aid from her husband after the attack, Jordan said. He said the woman told her husband the attack was unprovoked.

Not knowing the cause of the attack, the husband attempted to put the dog down and received help from responding Sheriff’s Deputies. Jordan said the husband shot the dog and deputies finished the job.

Jordan said the dog was taken by Animal Control for rabies testing.
