Widow Of Deceased Deputy Files Suit Against Troopers

The widow of a Bell County, Kentucky Sheriff’s deputy who died of the personal injuries he suffered while on the job has filed a negligence suit against two Kentucky State Police troopers.

According to the suit, in January of 2008, Deputy Sean Pursifull and his canine partner died while in pursuit of another vehicle. The chased vehicle collided with Pursifull’s parked cruiser.

In the suit she filed, Melonie Pursifull alleges that the crash that took her husband’s life was caused by troopers Ken Abner and Robert Farley driving in a careless and reckless manner.

As a result of Pursifull’s death, the teenaged driver of the vehicle that crashed into his cruiser has been charged with murder.
