Warrants Issued For Driver In Fayetteville Hit-And-Run That Seriously Injured Motorcyclist

Police have issued warrants for a driver who allegedly struck and caused serious personal injuries to a motorcyclist on Andrews Road in Fayetteville on June 16.

According to police spokesman Sgt. John Somerindyke, 30-year-old Jerome Ian Wilson is to be charged with felony hit-and-run, driving on a revoked license, and failure to yield causing serious injury upon his arrest.

Wilson has been accused of fleeing the scene after he allegedly turned into the path of a motorcycle driven by 52-year-old Steven Mark Longstreet.

Somerindyke said the crash occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. in front of the Andrews Commons shopping center.

According to investigators, Wilson turned left in front of the motorcycle, causing it to collide with the right side of his vehicle.

Witnesses say the driver did a U-turn in the parking lot before driving off, according to Somerindyke.

The vehicle involved in the crash was located on June 17 near Eureka Avenue and Church Street, Somerindyke said.
