Vicks Sinex Spray Recalled

After bacteria were found in a small sample following routine testing in its plant in Germany, Proctor and Gamble is voluntarily recalling about 120,000 bottles of its Vicks Sinex nasal spray.

B. Cepacia bacteria can cause harm to people with weakened immune systems and chronic lung conditions, and consumers are being asked not to use the spray while more testing is being conducted. The bacteria were found in a small amount of a batch shipped to the U.S., and further testing is being done on shipments to the U.K. and Germany. Proctor and Gamble has informed the proper regulatory authorities in all three of the affected countries, and no illnesses have been reported.
