Two Sisters Attacked By Rottweiler

Two sisters had to be rushed to a hospital on December 28 for the personal injuries they suffered after being attacked by a neighbor’s Rottweiler.

According to the father of the 5- and 12-year-old Loxahatchee, Florida girls, they were playing in their yard when the dog jumped the fence between their home and its owner’s and bit the 5-year-old around her ribs. He said the dog carried her in its mouth for several feet before her sister came to her aid and fought the dog off. The dog then turned on her, biting her on the arm.

As the 12-year-old ran towards her house for help, the Rottweiler jumped at her and bit her on the back of the neck.

Both girls required transport to Palms West Hospital.

Jason Long, the owner of the dog, said that it was the first time the Rottweiler had ever jumped the fence or attacked anyone. He said that he believes “Bud,” the dog, “just went to chase them and play,” adding “It wasn’t a bite out of anger.”

According to their father, the girls were released after treatment and, although they are still scared, are expected to make a full recovery.
