On June 5, two women sustained serious personal injuries after the vehicle they were traveling in ran off the road on Pamalee Drive, slid up an embankment, and collided with a pine tree.
The Fayetteville Police Department reports that 18-year-old Stacey Lenette Lino was driving north on Murchison Road around 2:44 p.m. when the vehicle ran off the road to the right and struck a tree. Her passengers, 16-year-old Shaquandra Easter and 17-year-old Shakira Bell, were seriously injured in the crash. One of the women had to be cut out of the car by firefighters.
Police say Lino suffered only minor injuries in the accident.
Bell was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition as of the night of the accident.
According to a representative from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Easter received air transport to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill; however UNC did not list Easter as a patient.
No further information was immediately available.
