Two Pedestrians Injured In Cary Accident

A portion of Cary Parkway had to be briefly closed after two pedestrians suffered personal injuries when they were hit by a car, police said on March 31.

According to Cary town officials, a vehicle broke down near the intersection of Southwest Cary Parkway and Towne Village Road. The two occupants exited the vehicle to take a look under the hood and their vehicle was struck from behind, causing it to roll over both of them.

The pedestrians, 18-year-old Cary residents Cassandra Miller and Steven Candy, received transport to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh with mild to moderate head injuries. No further updates about their conditions were available.

The second vehicle's driver, 22-year-old Cary resident Brian Parks, was uninjured.

Police said charges are pending.
