Two Children Attacked By Dog

Sheriff’s deputies in Greene County, Missouri are investigating a dog attack in which two children suffered personal injuries. Deputies say that on the night of December 30 in an attack by the family’s boxer mix the family said was unprovoked.

The decision about the pet’s fate is up to the family because their children were bitten by their own dog in their own home. Springfield-Greene County Animal Control officers had recommended that the family have the dog quarantined for 10 days to see if it shows signs of rabies.

The parents took the children to a hospital in Springfield for treatment for cuts suffered in the attack. According to deputies, the family recently purchased the dog from a friend.
