Train Collides With Tractor-Trailer In Rowand County
On the morning of June 7, a tractor-trailer was struck by a train in Rowand County, resulting in personal injuries.
The accident took place at about 10:30 a.m. near Statesville Boulevard in Cleveland.
Apparently, the locomotive struck the tractor-trailer and dragged it for several feet.
According to the writing on the tractor-trailer’s door, it belonged to American Cartage. It was struck by a westbound Norfolk-Southern train.
Someone in the truck’s cab required transport to an Iredell County hospital via ambulance.
The accident remains under the investigation of the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
