Three Injured In Mooresboro Head-On Collision

On the afternoon of March 29, three women were sent to Cleveland Regional Medical Center from the personal injuries they suffered in a head-on collision in Mooresboro. The accident took place shortly after 1 p.m. on Ellenboro Road.

North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper B.C. Sanders said he didn't know the extent of the injuries, but said the driver of a grey Nissan Sentra involved in the crash was trapped inside her vehicle, which had to be pried open.

Sanders said a burgundy Ford Explorer was eastbound on Ellenboro Road when a vehicle in front of it stopped to turn left. The Nissan was westbound on Ellenboro at the same time. Sanders said the Explorer went around the stopped vehicle and collided head-on with the Nissan, which had swerved right in an attempt to avoid the collision.

The identities of the victims were not immediately made available.
