Three Injured In I-40 Crash In Durham

Two people sustained personal injuries on the afternoon of January 30 after their car overturned multiple times on Interstate 40 near U.S. Highway 15-501.

Durham police said that a Honda Civic was eastbound on I-40 when a second vehicle abruptly pulled out in front of it. The Civic swerved and overturned several times.

Two people received transport to UNC Hospital with injuries that were considered severe and another was taken to the hospital with injuries that were considered minor. None of their identities were immediately made available.

The accident resulted in two of the three traffic lanes being closed as police worked to clear the scene, causing traffic to be heavily delayed in the area.
