Teen Found Near Goldsboro Highway Believed To Be Hit-And-Run Victim

Police say that on September 12, a teenager was discovered along the side of U.S. Highway 117 in Goldsboro, suffering from personal injuries he had apparently suffered in a hit-and-run collision.

The victim was identified as 17-year-old Mount Olive resident Carlos Ivan Carrizales-Carrizales. He was discovered along the highway suffering from head trauma. He received transport to Pitt Memorial Hospital for treatment for injuries that were considered life-threatening. As of the night of the incident, no information on his condition was made available.

Investigators say they have determined that he was struck between 2:30 and 3 a.m. They believe the suspect vehicle to be a light-colored, full-size, four-door GMC pickup truck.
