A product liability suit has been filed in the Court of Franklin County, Ohio against the in connection with personal injuries suffered from a recent outbreak of E. coli in Michigan and Ohio.
The suit was filed by a resident of Pickerington, Ohio who bought ground beef from a Columbus, Ohio Kroger store and contracted E. coli poisoning from consuming the contaminated beef. As a result of the infection, the victim experienced severe intestinal complications and continues to suffer from various symptoms associated with E. coli.
E. coli is a deadly pathogen which comes from contaminated food and typically results in major illnesses in the abdomen and intestines. E. coli can cause hemolytic uremic syndrome in children and the elderly, which is a condition that can cause serious damages to the kidneys and even death.
Recently, an investigation of a series of E. coli infections was conducted in Ohio and Michigan. On June 25, a recall was announced by Kroger Co. of the ground beef products in question.
