Suit Filed After Rear-End Collision At Red Light

A man has filed a personal injury suit against a driver he claims rear-ended him as he was stopped at a traffic light that had turned red.

According to the suit Michael J. Bauman filed in Illinois’ Madison County Circuit Court on July 24, he was stopped at a red light while westbound on June 9, 2008 when Tiffany Allen, who was also westbound at the time, failed to stop and collided with his vehicle.

Bauman claims the accident has caused him to experience pain and suffering and an impaired earning capacity, lose income, and incur medical expenses.

The suit alleges negligence on the part of Allen for driving too fast, failure to maintain proper control of her vehicle, failure to have her brakes maintained in proper working order, failure to maintain a proper lookout, following too closely, failure to avoid placing Bauman in danger, and failure to reduce speed.

Bauman seeks damages in excess of $50,000.
