Southern Pines Woman Killed In Four Car Crash
According to police in Southern Pines, a 47-year-old woman from Pinehurst died of the personal injuries she suffered in a four-vehicle crash on October 19.
Lt. Rodney Hardy said that 47-year-old Sheila Wilkerson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after her car struck a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Aberdeen resident Roberta McRae on Airport Road near the entrance of Sandhills Community College.
Hardy said that McRae received transport to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Information on her condition was not immediately made available.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Wilkerson’s 2006 Mitsubishi car rear-ended McRae’s 1999 Ford SUV, causing it to spin and overturn before colliding with vehicles driven by 33-year-old Biscoe resident Dorothy Maceluch and 52-year-old Vass resident Joe Wainwight, according to Hardy.
Hardy said the drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles involved.
