On April 20, a 4-year-old boy suffered fatal personal injuries when he was struck by a vehicle on Murray Hill Road, according to Southern Pines police.
According to a report filed by Southern Pines police Officer J.D. Asmussen, the accident took place shortly before 8:30 p.m. outside Grace Church near the parking lot of the Timberlane Apartments.
The report said that 4-year-old Southern Pines resident Lamyr Magee was in the church's parking lot and darted into the road, where he was struck by a 1996 Honda driven by 23-year-old Southern Pines resident Antonio Fitzgerald Little Jr.
The report said a total of nine people, including three members of the child's family, witnessed the accident.
