Silver Alert Issued In Durham This Week

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for the Durham and Wilson area this week after a disabled man disappeared from his home this weekend, leaving without a trace.

Authorities are looking for 36-year-old Vincent Artemus Taylor, who is described as a five-foot-nine, 160-pound African American man with black hair, brown eyes, and a mustache. He was last seen at his home in Wilson, North Carolina, on Saturday evening. He is not equipped to care for himself and likely needs assistance. Anyone who has seen Taylor or who has information about where he is should call 252-399-2323 immediately.

North Carolina’s Silver Alert system allows authorities to quickly let the public know when a senior citizen or other resident suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s or other cognitive issues, becomes lost or wanders from a nursing home. In addition, it allows family members and nursing homes to immediately report a missing person instead of having to wait a specified amount of time before calling police.
