Silver Alert Issued For Missing North Carolina Man

A Silver Alert has been issued for a Raleigh man who wandered from his group home on the night of Tuesday, August 10. The man, Bobby James Woodleif, is described as a 160-pound man who is five feet nine inches tall. He was last seen wearing an all-black outfit.

The man, who suffers from a cognitive issue similar to dementia, left his group home on New Bern Ave. some time during the night and the Silver Alert was issued at around 4 AM. Anyone who sees the man should immediately call the Raleigh Police.

The Silver Alert program began three years ago in an attempt to prevent nursing home wandering deaths and nursing home elopement injuries. Not only do Silver Alerts get the public quickly involved in locating lost elders suffering from dementia, it also allows nursing homes to report missing persons (in the past, only family members could report missing persons).
