Shannon Woman Killed In Lumberton Crash
A woman from Shannon suffered fatal personal injuries on January 20 when her car ran off Rennert Road in Lumberton and hit a ditch, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to Trooper Mike Chavis, 59-year-old Julia Lowery Locklear was southbound in a 2004 Dodge at approximately 10:45 p.m. when her car ran off the road to the left and hit a ditch.
Chavis said that Locklear received transport to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Chavis cited alcohol as a factor in the crash.
