A scooter driver was arrested on the night of June 10 after an accident at the intersection of Rauhut and Key Street in Burlington in which he suffered personal injuries.
According to Burlington police, 30-year-old Kenneth Ludwig was found lying in the road shortly after 11 p.m. They say the initial report was that he had been struck by another vehicle. However, it was later determined to have been a single-vehicle accident.
Ludwig sustained injuries to his face and legs. Alamance County EMS treated him at the scene and he was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and Ludwig was arrested on a charge of driving while impaired. He was place in jail under a $300 bond.
Ludwig was convicted of DWI in Alamance County in 2007. He served just under two months in prison.
