On the morning of April 26, a sport utility vehicle apparently ran a stop sign and rear-ended a school bus, causing eight people personal injuries in Charlotte shortly after 7 a.m.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said bus No. 1696 was traveling to West Charlotte High School when an SUV apparently ran a stop sign and slammed into the back of the bus on Wilkinson Boulevard.
Seven students received transport from responding emergency crews to Carolinas Medical Center-Main. The driven received transport to Presbyterian Main for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.
The students who weren't injured in the accident were taken to school on another bus.
The accident remains under investigation.
