Sanford Worker Falls to His Death
Sanford Worker Falls to His Death
A Sanford worker, Thomas Jacobs, 60, of Lugoff, S.C., fell to his death on Wednesday at the Tractor Supply Company in Sanford.
Jacobs was working on a tornado damaged building when a weak spot in the roof collapsed.
His body was discovered on Wednesday around 12:40 p.m. by a patrol officer. The office had noticed a vehicle parked next to the building. The building had been vacant since the tornado on April 16.
Jacobs was a contractor. According to the report it is believed he fell about 20 feet.
The accident is being investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
