A 19-year-old man from Salisbury sustained critical personal injuries in a two-vehicle crash on January 26 at the intersection of Long Street and Bringle Ferry Road.
On the day of the crash, Jeremy Bruce Eagle was northbound on a 2006 Qingqi scooter when a witness said he ran a red light and was struck by an eastbound 1998 Ford Expedition driven by 36-year-old Salisbury resident Morris Keith Jones.
According to Salisbury Master Police Officer J.P. Miller, Eagle was wearing a helmet, but did suffer head trauma. He was initially transported to Rowan Regional Medical Center before being flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he was listed in critical condition as of January 26.
Jones was uninjured in the crash.
According to Miller, charges are pending, but it did not appear that speed and alcohol were factors.
