Roanoke Rapids Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run

North Carolina state troopers are searching for a suspected hit-and-run driver that caused a woman from Roanoke Rapids to suffered fatal personal injuries.

Sgt. R.E. Dudley said that 47-year-old Sheila Brinson was killed when she was struck by a gold-colored, older model car around 1:30 a.m. on the morning of March 26.

According to Dudley, Brinson was walking on a road just outside of the Roanoke Rapids city limits. He said the car was speeding and the driver would have had to have crossed the center line to hit Brinson.

There was no indication that the car stopped and there were no skid marks.

Dudley said the suspect vehicle would be missing its driver's side mirror and would have front end damage.
