A woman from Raleigh has been accused of striking her friend with a vehicle and causing her personal injuries when she ran over her legs in Hope Mills on May 9.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, 49-year-old Dianna Dandrea has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
The Sheriff’s office said that at the time of the incident, Richardson and 62-year-old Linda Lea Glen, who have been friends for 15 years, were visiting a home in the area when they got into an argument.
The Sheriff’s office said that at one point, Glen grabbed the driver’s side door of the 1995 Volvo Richardson was driving and was dragged several feet. She then reversed the vehicle, running over Glen’s legs and colliding with a mailbox. At that point, she drove forward, running over Glen once again.
An unidentified person at the scene took Richardson’s keys from her and called 911.
Glen received transport to Pitt Memorial Hospital on May 10 and was released the following day.
